We checked these out from the library before smart anything about the shows at all. We don’t gaze network tv so we’re a bit out of the tv loop. As soon as we watched the first episode my 6 and 4 year ragged and I were all curved. We hadn’t even finished the first dvd and I was on Amazon ordering both dvd’s, Dragon Tales and Dragon rules. They are righteous in language and storytelling. The art is original but manages to transport the viewer wait on to conventional times with a magical “extinct” feel. The stories are sweet and the characters are all lovable. The angst in each episode is short-lived and always works out in the raze. 4 year olds, 6 year olds and apparently even 41 years passe like that! Astounding dvds. We’ve watched them over and over again.

After watching this children’s program on television, and finding it lustrous and not condecending, I decided to send it to my granddaughter. I am an artist and I was paricularly fascinated by the animation style. My son has always loved dragons so I idea his small daughter might luxuriate in watching this fable with her Dad. It also gives her some variety from the numerous Japanese anime shows and the newer fad characters. She enjoyed the first Jane and the Dragon CD that I sent and has continued her enjoyment with this second episode.

Finally a film version that follows the valid book. This movie inspired me to re-read the fresh. Comely filming and challenging. The only share that threw me was the teenage actress in residence of the 7 1/2 yr-old character, though the actress does a very marvelous job. My 7 1/2 yr-old son also enjoyed the film; he was glued to the site for the entire 86 minutes (perhaps because we read Through the Looking-Glass to him last year) . However, my 4 yr-old daughter was not enthusiastic in the least. This is not a “Disney” production, or even an American film, so don’t put a question to the dumbed-down stunning simplicity that we have been spoon-fed for so long. A very luscious film for an launch mind.

For the person who didnt like that it didnt effect sense to them, welcome to the belief of nonsense (”The dialogue is filled with non sequiturs” That is Lewis Carrolls text you are commenting on not this movie READ THE BOOK!)

I give this version top marks as it is the only version ive seen that is so faithful to Lewis Carrolls text. The nonsensical situations and conversations work perfectly without any actor having to go overboard with silliness. Many versions annoy me as the actors feel that have to act as daft and ‘mad, totally mad’ as they can. No need! the material is outlandish enough. This version feels weirder as a result cos the actors play it down a bit and act as if everything is as it should be when it clearly isnt.

The Alice stories were not all overjoyed contented bouncy comical madness. Specifically, Through the Looking Glass has a dim edge to the insanity. And no songs is quite refreshing.

Love Robin Hood? Well, Mel Brooks has made fun of this timeless myth in one of the “best ideas since pay toilets.” This profitable and witty film has continued Mel Brooks’ legacy of wacky, base films such as Blazzing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Spaceballs and History of the World Allotment I.

Cary Elwes probably described his possess performance best: “Unlike some other Robin Hoods, I can vow with an English accent!” Cary Elwes brought comedic timing and a wacky calmness to literature’s most plucky and stern characters.

You’ll want to gawk this hillarious movie over and over again to win some of the faster jokes and to consume up on some of the older ones. I have seen this movie many times and I serene reveal lines from it on almost a daily basis.

As Mel Brooks would say this movie is “the best thing to reach since pay toilets!”

When Mel Brooks is “on,” nobody is funnier. “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” is another side-splitting parody from the director, and like his other hits, it has some moments that have me falling out of the chair no matter how many times I examine them.

The area loosely (very, very loosely) follows the Robin Hood saga of yore. Robin, looking a lot like Errol Flynn, is surrounded by his Merry Men. They’re merry, alright–they do a singing, dancing number entitled “Men in Tights” after trying to hike up said garments in “Ye Olde Privy.”

Robin is lured into a wrong archery contest concocted by the contaminated Prince John, with the back of Don Giovanni. This particular “Don” is played to the hilt by Dom DeLuise, doing a perfect imitation of Marlon Brando as Don Corleone. This is one of the aforementioned scenes that has me unable to sit in the chair! It is literally a show-stopper; so amusing that it’s hard to hear the lines.

When Maid Marion hears of the station, she rides into the forest to warn her beau–accompanied by her massive Brunhilde of a chaperone (the aside to the audience by the chaperone’s horse is another can’t-miss portion of hilarity) . Robin can’t resist showing off his archery talents, however, and rides off to the tournament, gleaming he is marked for death.

Need I say it–everything turns out immense in the slay. Except for the viewer, who has had a heart attack from laughing too hard! This is a must to add to your collection. Another Mel Brooks classic.

Both THE LONG HAIR OF DEATH (one of my favorites) & AN ANGEL FOR SATAN (very rare & first time on DVD in the US) have now been released as a double feature. An Angel For Satan (Barbara Steele’s last Italian fear film) was never released in the US, but at least we have English subtitles. The film seems more of a supernatural thriller than a alarm outing. These films do not appear to have been remastered, but the recent sources are remarkable better than expected. The quality of An Angel For Satan is very good– nice certain portray. The Long Hair Of Death is far better than any other versions out there so far. I was very ecstatic with this double feature–some perfectionists may not be.

Good news– THE SHE BEAST and NIGHTMARE CASTLE are being remastered and released soon. Now lets fetch Apprehension CREATURES, THE GHOST and Detestable DR. HICHCOCK properly restored.

An Angel For Satan. 1966 Italian Spoken with English Subtitles.

It is one of the last and most enchanting Italian terror productions featuring the alluring Barbara Steele under the direction of Camillo Mastrocinque. The statue found in the lake was restored to its originality by Sculpture Roberto (Anthony Steffen) . Steele begins to engage on the psychotic traits of the woman upon whom the sculpture was modelled. She was known by the towns people as much-feared sorceress of a local narrative.

The Shaded and White transfer of An Angel for Satan is perfect. Photography is of high standard.

The DVD is a double feature with another Barbara Steele 1964 film `The Long Hair of Death’; Directed by Antonio Margheriti. This film is English Spoken.

The legend line, is about the Sheriff or Count who controls his territory. These stories were location in the 15th century Italy. It is again about Greed and what is racy is about the return from death of the mother of young Elizabeth who at a very tender age watched her mother burned at the stake for a slay she did not commit. A very strong yarn, beautifully directed, spellbinding from one chapter into another. Barbara Steele was vast in her portion as was Kurt, played by Giorgio Ardisson. Lizabeth was played by Halina Zalewska. Sin never sleeps.

Unfortunately the transfer of this Dusky and White photographed film was rather disappointing.

Story wise they both carry a strong set and although I’m not a fear buff, I loved them both.

The films (Standard DVD) were projected on a 3 meter shroud, up-scaled to 1080p by DVD `O’ equipment.

The year is 1963…as the world is reeling from the assassination of President Kennedy, Egypt has missiles posed to annihilate Israel. The only thing preventing this is the lack of guidance technology to properly target the missiles, which Egypt is on the verge of obtaining with assistance from a group of Germans, once officers within the SS during World War II, now members of a group called Odessa, a clandestine organization designed to befriend ex-German military personal get fresh identities and lives, thereby avoiding select, after the slay of the war.

The Odessa File (1974) takes the common Frederick Forsyth current of the same name, which is supposedly based on real facts and events, and presents it as a truly unbelievable, tense thriller that I really enjoyed. After the passing of an elderly Jewish survivor of a WWII concentration camp, Miller comes into possession of a diary kept by the man, one which detailed, in particular, the various crimes against humanity by Roschmann, and also seemed to show that the war criminal may mild be alive. As Miller begins delving into the legend, uncovering tidbits of information, he meets resistance in the get of various individuals, many of which turn out to be members of the secret Odessa organization, and are now actively working against Miller for fears that he may show their secrets.

As Miller gets closer to uncovering the truths, the resistance against him grows, and takes the produce of true attempts on his life. I have not actually read the book, but I really liked this film. Jon Voight is unbelievable and believable, German accent and all, as a reporter, seemingly driven by a determination to explain a subversive hideousness, once prominent in his country, that has now gone underground, and threatens yet again a titanic many peoples of the world. Listed as a thriller/drama, The Odessa File certainly doesn’t disappoint. The residence, while having many twists and turns, keeps focused, and rarely falters in its’ progression. The development of the characters is carefully planned, but not so to bring attention to the fact, allowing for the viewer to become drawn into the film. The exposition at the beginning was a limited awkward to me, but I didn’t seek any other contrivance around it, so I well-liked it. Schell provides an top-notch performance as an ex-German officer hiding in large daylight, one who will resort to any means critical to protect his secrets, along with those of the Odessa group. One point I enjoyed was advance the extinguish, as a particular revelation was made. Prior to that point, I had started to request one of the main character’s motivations, and, as if the film knew what I was thinking, it answered my request in a completely satisfying manner. The film runs unbiased over two hours, and the first half may seem boring, but I felt as if this was deliberate, allowing time for the legend to construct. During the second half the film picks up hasten as the tension mounts, drawing on the momentum carefully constructed in the beginning, resulting in a wholly exquisite conclusion. Given the nature of realizing novels to film, I suspect a number of state elements were left out, but what was left seemed to be missing very diminutive, at least anything that left a glaring hole which would pull the viewer out of the movie with its’ obviousness, which indicates a skillful adaptation of unusual source material, done with care to keep the elements which made the book so very approved and well received. All in all, this is a really thrilling outing, one that requires a slight patience, but provides a rewarding experience overall.

Presented on this release are really apt looking prints, both in wide veil and fat shroud formats (it’s double-sided) . The audio seems a bit soft, but there are English subtitles, so I missed nothing. As far as special features, there are some well establish together production notes in a four page booklet within the DVD case, an novel theatrical trailer, talent biographies for actors Voight, Schell, and director Neame, and trailers for Anaconda (1997) and Oliver Stone’s U-Turn (1997), neither film as safe as this one, but both certainly benefiting from Voight’s appearance…and that’s another thing…remember when Jon Voight appeared in excellent films? Along with this film, I also count Midnight Cowboy (1969), Catch-22 (1970), Deliverance (1972), and Runaway Hiss (1985) to be some precise highlights of his career…and let’s glance at some of his more original films…Most Wanted (1997), The Karate Dog (2004), and Baby Geniuses 2 (2004) …not exactly the caliber of films early in his career, but who knows what the future holds?

This is what superb espionage movies are all about; a strong basis for the memoir line (elements of reality), a simple honest, and an moving location. Lately I’ve been thinking that some of the best espionage movies of all time were made in the 70’s; perhaps this has something to do with the turbulent 60’s when there was so considerable going on (i.e. assasinations, controversial issues, conspiracy theories, etc) .

While the movie is not as apt as “The Day of the Jackel” in my concept, it collected ranks very high on my list of films of this type. Anyone skeptical about the quality of gape films made in the 70’s, impartial rent (or purchase) this portray and rent something that was made in the nineties (something like a James Bond flick or Mission Impossible) . Indeed, studio GONZO has been hit-and-miss for me for a while now. I greatly enjoyed Blue Submarine #6, while I HATED Vandread. Since Mecha and sci-fi is really my thing, I’ve been holding tight till now. Stellar reviews made me check out Last Exile. It has definitely been worth the wait.

While great has already been said about the absolutely fantastic quality of the animation of this point to, really I don’t assume enough can be said. It’s more like an OVA or a movie than an bewitching series, with few smooth shots and very consistent quality. The CGI and cell-animation blend better than any other explain GONZO has ever made. And the spend of light and color is captured impartial apt, being neither bland, nor too flashy. Perfect.

The soundtrack is also quite fabulous, making me judge of some of the better work of Yoko Kanno. It’s a pleasing mixture of old-style European themes, drum rhythms, and orchestral magic. Kind of makes you want the soundtrack…

Of course an anime is ultimately worth watching because of its memoir and its characters. As I said before, this series has two fabulous lead characters. But that’s unbiased the tip of the iceberg. As the reveal goes on and more main characters are introduced, we advance to know them largely from their actions (at least for the first few discs) . That is to say, the character devlopment is well done. So is the dialog (somebody give the script-writer a raise) . Again, it recalls a well-written modern or a enormous movie more than an anime series. And the voice-acting is noble. The English dub is quite excellent, but the Japanese is unbiased perfect.

As for the memoir, it’s largely objective another version of “slither the girl” and “net the state” that we’ve seen over and over again. What exactly is Al? What exactly is Exile? Patience gentle anime-viewer. There isn’t really a central site at first (unless you assume a series of mysteries to unravel a residence) , but the awesome alternate universe and well fleshed-out characters MORE than build up for it.

This DVD is only the first few episodes, and really unbiased sets up the world and the main characters (as well as tossing them together) . It’s a kindly commence, but if you aren’t intrigued yet you might want to stick around for the second dvd. For anime connoisseurs and sci-fi fans this is definitely one to support.

(Oh, I forgot to deliver you, the opening and closing animations for this anime are AWESOME, featuring some breath-taking animation and SWEET music!)

Last Exile - First Disappear is the beginning of an wonderful, wonderous narrative of truth, deceit, bravery, failure and success. The three main characters, Claus, Lavie and Alvis, are all characters everyone can narrate to. They are young, naive, caring and loving, but they must face the valid world of benefit stabbing, betrayal and intrigue.

The series starts off a bit plain, but with each episode you initiate to earn out more and more about the world these three young people live in. It is a world at war with itself. We know very itsy-bitsy about the the “enemy”, only that they “fight without honor or chivlary”. We inaugurate to realize the loyal “power” gradual all that is happening is the Guild, a hasten of advanced beings who seem to have fun causing problems for the people of this world.

Claus and Lavie become interested in the war accidentally when the pilot of another Vanship crashes after hitting Claus and Lavie’s Vanship during the “mountainous accelerate”. That is when we first meet Alvis, or Al, as Claus and Lavie know her. Al is a innocent child who holds a dismal secret that the Guild wants. But we are left wondering what that “secret” is.

The animation is first rate and the sound tract is astounding. I recommend you regain the soundtract along with the DVD.

I admit to seeing the made-for-television version of Joan of Arc before viewing this version. If it makes a inequity, I also read Label Twain’s “Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc” that previous weekend, regardless of my disapprove of Twain’s writing style. I admit to thinking of this logical, objective, and energetic historical figure as one of the most intelligent in history. So, after viewing the scewed version called “The Messenger” I am perhaps too biased to screech.

The Joan portrayed in “The Messanger” comes off as tempermental, apprehensive, and ultimately insane. This is not the Joan that is recorded in history as a kind and forgiving peasant who touched the hearts of thousands by loving them, and who never spoke ill of anyone. This is not the Joan that led fifty sparkling judges in circles of words by answering calmly, consistently, and logically all answers that were intended to lead her to the stake. This is not the Joan who claimed to hear the voices of saints who informed her of events long before they happen. No, this “messenger”, in the midst of a cinematic mess, is a horrifying psychotic who doesnot beget the conviction that would invent an army wake up let alone fight an imposible war.

I did not like this movie. The portrayal of her early life was very honorable, giving her a sincerity and piety that made the child Joan an beautiful character. However, once Milla Jovovich took over as the teen Joan, she became a raving lunatic. Clearly, this was no accident. She and director Luc Besson are husband and wife, and it is definite that this is their combined interpretation of Joan.

The pickle with this portrayal was that Joan was made to be appear so demented that she lost credibility as a believable character. Her idea in her voices was depicted more as aroused fanaticism than unshakeable faith. Personally, I have no plight with this interpretation, since I am more safe to maintain her voices were the result of an unbalanced psyche than the thunder of God. The dilemma I have is believing that anyone, even in the 15th century, would give an army to someone who is so obviously over the edge. Moreover, it is a stretch to bear that even the most desperate of simple minded men would follow such a character into battle.

If the portrayal were impartial a small more balanced, with moments of piety, sincerity and lucidity, the viewer and the other characters around her might be justified in saying, `Is she divinely inspired or simply excited? ‘ Only when that demand resonates has Joan been portrayed effectively. In this interpretation there was never any expect. She was clearly a madwoman. It was almost a relief when they finally did away with her.

That being said, I must say that from a technical standpoint this was a brilliantly directed film. Luc Besson has produced a compelling visual work of art. The opening scenes of young Joan running through the fields were pretty. The battle carnage was authentically repulsive and the action realistic. The costumes were astounding and the locations and sets well chosen and well crafted. His camera perspectives gave tremendous impact to every scene. His imagary of supernatural events was electrifying. In every regard, other than Joan’s character interpretation, this was an inspired work.

Milla Jovovich gave a genuine performance as Joan The Exasperated. Though I don’t agree with the interpretation, I can’t imagine such insanity delivered any more effectively. She really seemed well obedient for a jacket with wrap around sleeves. In every scene she exuded white hot intensity, especially in the battle scenes. Her performance was truly tour de force.

Faye Dunaway was wonderful as the cunning Yolande D’Aragon. She was so tainted and in control, deliciously base and conniving.

John Malkovich did an obedient job portraying Charles VII, however he was a bit feeble for the portion. Charles was born in 1403 and met Joan in 1429 at the tender age of 26. Malkovich has difficulty passing for 46 (his real age) no less 26.

Dustin Hoffman’s minor role as the conscience was also quite well done. Unfortunately, it lost some effectiveness because he was never really assign in context. Was he another of Joan’s creations or an real being? A diminutive defining dialogue would have helped create his character better.

This is a glorious film with a fatal flaw. If the record is to work, Joan must be a beloved heroine. In this portrayal, she does not endear herself to the viewer. METAL SKIN/BLUE Execute is a one-two action pack from Australia that delves into social injustice, criminals, and unpleasant cops. And there’s a lot of cold-blooded violence as well. Neither of the films are for the faint of heart, and if you’re looking for redeeming characters, you’d have to be awfully suited to hold one out of the bunch offered here.

With the subject matter and the geography enthusiastic, the movies didn’t have powerful to offer outside of Australia. The account in METAL SKIN was region in Melbourne, and even after watching it I didn’t connect a whole lot to what life was like there in 1994 when the film was made. The film centers on four teens who aren’t exactly enchanted with their lot in life. If I’d been them, I wouldn’t have been either. But none of them really pulled me in and made me want to understand them. In fact, the deeper I got into the movie, the more I wanted to occupy them at arm’s length.

Geoffrey Wright was the writer/director of the film, though others evidently directed some of the sequences according to interviews. Wright also delivered ROMPER STOMPER which catapulted Russell Crowe to international attention.

Joe (Aden Young) has problems with his father, and those aren’t played off well enough to fabricate him a sympathetic character by any means. Savina (Tara Morice) unbiased comes across as peculiar, and the witchcraft thing seems to appear from left field. Dazey (Ben Mendelsohn) is the guy everything comes easy for. And Roslyn (Nadine Garner) who, on the surface, has a beneficial life.

Some of the reviews I’ve read have suggested there were a lot of Arthurian undertones to the movie. Such as the search for the Holy Grail, which was supposed to be the fastest car in the city so they could derive street races. And even the title is supposed to be from a quote by Lancelot in John Boorman’s EXCALIBER when Lancelot tells Arthur he gave up everything outside of his metal skin to encourage.

I objective didn’t behold those things, and the movie is depressing. There’s a lot of truth in it, because there are disaffected teens everywhere that have the same things on their minds. Some of the action sequences were well shot, particularly the racing bits.

But over all the film left me wanting more epic and more happiness. That wasn’t the intent, of course. And maybe that was fraction of what Wright was going for. However, he obviously knows how to please his hometown audience because the film won two Australian Academy Awards.

Production values on the area seemed crude, but I don’t know if it was from the modern movie or from the DVD transfer. The colors were washed out in several places. The images weren’t titillating as they needed to be, and the final product tended to be grainy, as if it had been shot on video tape instead of film.

METAL SKIN has been reviewed well by those who care for it. I’d say that people who are looking for that kind of downbeat film will be delighted. But casual viewers might want to give this one a pass.

BLUE Abolish, not to be confused with the British television series by the same name, was a mini-series based on factual events. The series focuses on a cop Roger “the Dodger” Rogerson (Richard Roxburgh) and a habitual criminal Arthur “Neddy” Smith (Tony Martin) . The two formed a partnership that was mutually pleasant and started pushing each other up in their respective fields.

Some viewers have stated that BLUE Execute was the basis for the American series THE SHIELD that starred Michael Chiklis as Vic Mackey, the corrupted cop heading up the special detectives collectively called The Barn. I could view where the comparison would arise while watching the mini-series.

The Australian series took reality to heart, though, and the events that played out on television were so end to what actually happened that the indicate was barred from being broadcast in South Wales, where the events actually took state. It wasn’t allowed to be shown there for six years.

The production values of the transfer on this one are essentially the same. They’re watered down and tend to be monochromatic at times. However, the chronicle is intensely more inviting, but that may be because everyone understands crime considerable for than disaffected youth. Or, at least, are more willing to build up with it.

The mini-series made me more gripping, which shows like this should do if they’re effective, and I dug into the history of the exact people alive to. If you want a tour through some really sordid criminal dealings and screwed-up justice, honest study up the two main players in this drama.

Overall, I was more pleased with BLUE Slay, aside from the transfer problems, than with METAL SKIN. But this one is a two-fer and it might be rewarding to engage for one or the other, depending on your particular taste.

I’m not a Brad Pitt fan. His physical attributes don’t astound and thrill me! But, I’ve got to give it to him: He was convincing in his dual roles as the coffee shop sweetie and Mr. Death. Claire Forlani, whom I’ve never seen in a film before was simply incandescent. She’s the perfect Susan in this parable of one man’s last days on earth. Anthony Hopkins as Bill Parrish is worthy, as always. He truly makes you feel as though he’s a man with runt time left and has to exercise the rest of his alloted time cleaning up his act, making amends with his loved ones, assuring his daughters that he loves them and has always loved them. Also, Marcia Overjoyed Hardin and Jeffrey Tambor are both extremely agreeable as the number two daughter (in her father’s heart) and her slightly inept (business wise) husband. They’re both touching. I wasn’t achieve off by the length of the film. I consider we should purchase the time to be pleased some things in life. Plain down, relax and devour this heavenly offering from Martin Brest. You did a advantageous job, Marty!

I’ll admit that only morbid curiosity led me to glimpse this movie upon it’s initial release. The premise of this remake sounded captivating, but the over the top costs and production problems had been tabloid fodder for months. When it didn’t do blockbuster business, not many people were surprised.

It’s a shame that this movie didn’t do better than mediocre reviews and lukewarm boxoffice receipts. There I sat in the audience marveling at the glowing compose and antiques, not to mention the pleasing costume execute. So many films these days go for established designers, but this movie frail a studio designer powerful like the days of the ragged Hollywood system. The attention to detail is glowing.

As for the acting, it all boiled down to one scene for me. Anthony Hopkins describing the first time he’d ever had a lamb sandwich to Brad Pitt. It turns into one of the most shapely remembrance speeches of a widower for the wife he mild grieves. Needless to say even this heartless cynic got a bit misty. To have a man state such worship without sounding condescending or corny is quite a feat. It’s enough to do you enjoy in the power of a trustworthy actor.

Brad Pitt also deserves kudos for this role. Despite living through a personal hell and sustaining an injury, he does a ample job in his double role. I conception the scene in which Death says capable bye to Claire Forlani’s character was some of his best acting.

Why read this first? Because hopefully there are no spoilers here. In so many of the reviews for this movie, as well as others on Amazon, people seemed compelled to give a total synopsis of the movie all the draw up to the waste — especially if they didn’t like the movie. It’s like if they didn’t care for it, then nobody else needs to search for it. Well, I’m joyful that I didn’t read any of the reviews here before watching Smart because I enjoyed not gleaming and being able to choose for myself. And my thought is that Luminous is a very comely movie.

“Bright” achieves a level of greatness so few science fiction films ever execute. A movie like this could have easily placed technical achievement over character development, and thankfully, that didn’t happen; we care objective as grand about the people as we do about the spectacular special effects.

The epic begins in 1959, when an elementary school class is asked to blueprint pictures of what the world will perceive like fifty years later. He then takes it home, thinking the numbers might mean something. John initially thinks nothing of it … until he places his wet glass of hard liquor on it and leaves a ring. Was it a predetermined act or a random act that led to a ring being formed around very specific numbers (the significance of which I won’t enlighten)? More primary, was it a predetermined act or a random act that landed Caleb with the page of numbers in the first location? While I won’t say what the numbers refer to (and this is in spite of the many ads that give plenty of hints), I will say that what John discovers changes him forever, forcing to think ideas he never opinion he would be able to deem.

To report more of the site would do you and the film a sizable disservice. Grand of the record thrives on an entertaining mystery that only gets more unsettling with every passing scene. There are two more characters of vast importance. One is Lucinda Embry’s daughter, Diana Wayland (Rose Byrne), who enters John’s life in a draw that reaffirms the thought that nothing happens randomly. The other is Diana’s daughter, Abby (also played by Lara Robinson), who, like Caleb, has been contacted by the creepy silhouetted figures, eventually called the Whispering People. View John and Diana as they search through Lucinda’s abandoned home in the middle of the woods–the alarm they philosophize is disturbingly convincing.

Like last summer’s “The X-Files: I Want to Have,” “Intelligent” is one of the best cinematic surprises of modern memory, a meaningful and curious allegory made with plan of keen the audience in matters of spirituality. It’s difficult to say whether or not this film takes a religious stance; that would depend on your contain concept of the nature of the universe. There are, however, a number of religious implications, the least subtle of which is revealed in the final shot.
